Default The Benefits of Player Dimensions

I spent about 20 minutes tinkering around and found out some optimal sizes for your player if you want to maximize the slap shot bonus you receive from shaft flex. It's probably only useful for D-men as it would make a forward pretty slow and does not make the wrist shot much better... great for devastating point shots though.

In order to get a 5 star bonus to your Slap Shot Power your player should be 6'3 241 lbs. (my favourite) or 6'2 270 lbs. That is the lightest a player can be at that specific height in order to get the max bonus. As far as I know it's impossible to get the 5 star bonus if you're any shorter than 6'2.

What slapshot speed do you achieve with that size?

Running a 86 power / 79 acc build which gives me approximately 90pow/85acc (including stick flex and curve) with a 5'9 192lbs playmaker Dman... I can reach in the 76ish MPH without moving.

I found I only gained about 3 to 4 MPH when I switched to a 6'2+ Dman who's MUCH slower than my 5'9 192lbs guy.

I prefer the mobility over the few miles per hour difference. I still manage to rip ridiculously hard slapshots. They're not power forward lasers but they're much more accurate.

Anyways, what slapshot speed do you achieve with that size?

Sorry to chime in with a noob question but how are you able to tell your MPH on your slap shots?

Go to edit your player, go to sticks, select the flex and then press start while you're there. It'll bring you to the shooting drill where you can test your shot's power and accuracy.

I wish there was a way to test the speed in movement though. I really want to know the true speed of my slapshot when I take a few stride and rip a laser.

I am pretty sure that Davy G put out a chart with all the sizes and stick possibilities and had the ratings for each category. You could search thread to see where it is, but I know they are on here somewhere.

I'm still curious to see the numbers he was able to put up with the best hardest slapshot possible compared to mine

Yeah, the 6'3, 6'4 - 225-245 is the perfect size for your Dman. If you are more of a Dman that is.

This is great information. What would be optimum size for a sniper forward?
